New
East Timor subtypes of 5, 10, 25 and 50 centavos exist with different mint mark, and also with considerable different denomination numerals: the
new series shows thick and bold figures, while the previous ones showed thinner numerals.
The 5 and 10 centavos from 2011 exist in both varieties, the new thicker 25 and 50 centavos only exist for year 2013.
Old issues bear a
small letter C at left of the date. New issues bear a
small BCTL at left of date (for
Cental Bank of Timor Leste).
