North Korea - Redenomination

New circulating coins:

1 New Won = 100 Old Won

1 jeon and 5 jeon coins were minted in 2008 and bear the issuing year, whereas the 1 won coin and 50 and 10 jeon coins bear year 2002.
Therefore, there is a high possibility that they were printed in 2002 when the July 1st Economic Management Reform Measures were adopted.

Colombia - 50 pesos 2007 & 2008

New circulating type. It is magnetic, as it has a steel core. So, it is a new KM, different from KM283.1 and KM283.2, although the design is exactly the same.

(information by Guillermo Granados)

Notes from Wolfgang Schuster: the vast majority of the ordinary 50 pesos issues from 2007 and 2008 are still in the old metal, non magnetic. In addition to those there are very very few and really difficult to find of these magnetic types.

New bimetallic commemoratives:

"Japan prefectures: Ibaraki & Nara"

Ibaraki obverse design: Kairakuen Garden and Plum Tree or Japanese Apricot Tree. Kairakuen Garden is located in Mito city and is known as one of the three famous traditional gardens in Japan. It was created in 1842 and is famous for plum blossom viewing.

Nara obverse design: Kentoshi-sen (Ship for Imperial Japanese Envoy to China in the Tang Dynasty). Japanese envoys to the Tang Dynasty played an important role in international cultural exchange during the Asuka and Nara periods in ancient Japan.
